NSW players were in fine form last week, taking out three of the four titles on offer at the Sydney ITF Junior event at Sydney Olympic Park Tennis Centre.

National Academy players Kody Pearson and Benard Nkomba faced off in the boys singles final, with Pearson claiming a 6-3 7-5 victory. The No. 1 and No. 2 seeds train together at Sydney Olympic Park and are frequent doubles partners.

In the girls singles, Patricia Apisah from Meriden School in Sydney’s Inner West won a tight final against Amber Marshall. After splitting the first two sets, Apisah eventually came out on top 6-2 4-6 7-5. The pair then teamed up for the doubles final but went down in a thriller to Jessica Fowler and Megan Smith 7-5 4-6 [10-7].

Mayez Elrich and Corey Gaal made it three wins from four for NSW in the boys doubles, winning 6-1 7-6(3) over Matthew Dellavedova and Michael Shepheard.
