NSW Country Championships
The NSW Country Championships is the most prestigious country tennis event in the Tennis NSW calendar, with a history dating back to the 1920s. More than 30 perpetual trophies have been contested by past champions including Tony Roche, Mark Edmondson, Jason Stoltenberg, Evonne Goolagong Cawley, Jan O’Neill (née Lehane), and more recently Nathan Healey and Ashley Fisher.
Tennis Country positions the NSW Country Championships as a cornerstone selection benchmark for state and regional teams and squads, while also serving as a key platform to identify, support, and develop emerging country talent.
The event attracts over 800 participants and spectators each year and has historically rotated through major regional centres including Newcastle, Gosford, Tuggerah, Wollongong and Forster.
2026 Country Championships
Wagga Wagga is proudly hosting the NSW Country Championships in 2026 and 2027. With its strong sporting culture, welcoming community and a completely refurbished complex located within the CBD, it is an ideal location for this flagship regional event.

Open events:
Men’s & Women’s Singles – $50 (down from $80)
Men’s & Women’s Doubles – $25 per player
Junior events:
10, 12, 14, 16, 18 yrs Singles – $40 (down from $55)
10, 12, 14, 16, 18 yrs Doubles – $20 per player
11, 13, 15, 17 yrs Singles – $25 per player
PLAYER PERKS
All registered players at this year’s event will get FREE access to the Wagga Leisure Oasis Aquatic Centre and the 24/7 Workout Gym during the tournament. Family members can also join in, with a 50% discount on entry to the Aquatic Centre and gym.
Prize money has also increased for the O5k NSW Country Closed Championships Open, making this year’s event even more rewarding.
