In round 3 of State League Seacliff consolidated their position at the top of the ladder with a 4 rubbers to 2 win against East Adelaide Kings. After splitting the first two singles, Noah Koeroessy was able to come from a set down to defeat Todd McLean before Hamish Bartos won decisively over Antonio Kristo to give Seacliff a 3 rubbers to 1 lead. The doubles were then split one apiece to ensure Seacliff remained undefeated this season.

Trinity Gardens remain undefeated after a 4 rubbers to 2 win against The Drive. Trinity started well winning the first three singles through strong efforts from Callum Gale, Andrew Tavella and Charles Nicholas. Joel Scalzi was able to overcome Oliver Carroll in a hard fought contest to bring the Drive back into the contest. Although Sebastian Flock and Kenta Nakamura were able to win their doubles in a tie break, Charles Nicholas and James Ma held strong to secure the win for Trinity.

Glenlea won their first match of the season with a 5 rubbers to 1 win against Tea Tree Gully. Tea Tree Gully started off well with Ashwin Vijayaragavan winning a tough contest against Cihan Akay in 3 sets. However, Glenlea showed their class winning the other three singles with dominant performances from Edward Winter, Jack Schipanski and Josh Boots. They were then able to follow that up their great singles form with two close wins in the doubles to ensure victory.

In the match of the round Broadview narrowly edged out Coromandel Valley winning by 7 games. Broadview came out of the blocks winning the first two singles through Nathan Eshmade and Asykal Azhar. Sam Sanderson hit back for Coromandel Valley with a strong showing in his singles before Martin Richards put Broadview up 3 rubbers to 1 heading into the doubles. Coromandel were able to pull out two victories in doubles, however it was not enough to get the win with Broadview holding on to win their first match of the season.

In the State League Women’s competition EAP continued their good form with a dominant victory over Denman 5 rubbers to 1. EAP started well with strong wins from Andrea Kristo and Juliette Robinson before Jessica Glavas struck back for Denman with a 3 set win over Elim Yan. However, EAP were too strong with Piper Khouri defeating Jacqui Scott in three sets before EAP won both doubles to secure the win.

The Drive won their first match of the season overcoming Kingswood 4 rubbers to 2. Melissa Beadman won a tough 3 set match against Jasmine Adams to start the Drive’s day off well followed by strong showings from Melanie Clayton and Alana Repanich. Vittoria Peresano was able to capture a match for Kingswood. However, Melissa and Melanie stayed strong winning their doubles match to secure The Drive the win.

Finally, Seaside secured their position at the top of the ladder with a 4 rubbers to 2 win against Glenlea. Glenlea started well with Olivia Ley defeating Natasha Russell in 3 sets and Marie Bonnin winning comfortably. However, Madison Schwarz and Georgia Plunkett both won convincingly to leave the game 2 rubbers a piece heading into doubles. From their Seaside were too strong capturing both doubles to secure the come from behind victory.
