League details

Season dates 2023/24, times and venue;

Orange Ball 2023/24 Key Dates

  • Term 4 Dates
    • Nominations Open: Wednesday 6 September
    • Nominations Close: Monday 26 September
    • Start Date: 21 October
    • Final Round: 16 December
  • Term 1 Dates
    • Nominations Open: Friday 19 January
    • Nominations Close: Saturday 27 January
    • Start Date: Saturday 3 February
    • Final Round:  Saturday 23 March
  • Matches will be played using a home and away fixture
  • Matches are played from 10:30am
  • Matches will not be played over the Adelaide Cup Long Weekend
Team make up and match formats
  • Teams will be made up of three players each week
  • Each player will play one singles match and two doubles matches each week
  • Each round will be a first to 4 game set – no advantage, no tiebreak
Court set up and balls
  • All matches will be played using Orange Balls
  • Courts will be set up to modify the size of the court as per Orange Ball guidelines
  • Each club is required to set up courts using drop down lines
Requirement of clubs
  • Set up courts
  • Ensure scores are entered on League Manager
Support from parents
  • Parents are asked to attend each match and support with court set up, on court scoring and score entry through League Manager
  • Each team is required to have one appointed Team Manager
Other Cost and value
  • Cost for a team entry into GDTA Tennis Hot Shots Match Play is;
    • Term Fee – $30 per team
Team Nomination 
  • A Tennis Club affiliated with Tennis SA may nominate a team to compete within the GDTA Orange Ball Competition
  • Nominations shall be submitted online via League Manager
  • The Nomination will require a nominating club to name in Order of Merit the players which it proposes to play in its team
  • Please make sure both the club coach and junior coordinator have agreed that the team is at an appropriate level
  • Clubs will receive an invoice once teams are final
