Sydney Badge Reserve Players
What is a Reserve Player?
A Reserve Player is a player who is not nominated as a Base Player for any team and may be selected to play for a team in a match, subject to eligibility requirements.
Reserve players provide flexibility to teams throughout the season.
Eligibility Requirements
To be eligible to participate as a Reserve Player in 2026, a player must:
- Hold a Tennis Australia Competitive Player Profile (enabling entry into Match Centre), and
- Have an active UTR rating at the time of selection that is below the UTR upper limit for the relevant division, as determined by the Sydney Badge Grading Panel.
Following completion of grading, the UTR upper limits for each division will be published on this page.
If you are unsure whether you have a Competitive Player Profile, or require assistance creating one, please refer to the ‘Competitive Player Profile’ section of the Sydney Badge website.
Expressing Interest as a Reserve Player
Players may express their interest in being a Reserve Player by completing the 2026 Reserve Player Registration Form.
A link to the registration form will appear at the top of this page once available.
Completion of the form is optional.
Players are not required to register in order to be eligible to act as a reserve.
However, players who complete the form:
- Will be included in the official Reserve Player Pool document
- Consent to their details being shared with Sydney Badge Club Delegates and Team Captains
- Acknowledge that clubs may contact them regarding potential selection as a reserve player
Submitting the form does not guarantee selection, and Reserve Players are under no obligation to accept an invitation to play.
Reserve – Base Player
If a reserve competes for a team three (3) times throughout the season, they will automatically become a base player for that team. The only exception to this will be if that team already has the maximum number of base players (12).
Please contact the team at [email protected] if you have any questions.
