With more than 300 affiliated tennis clubs and centres across in South Australia, it is a true honour to be named the Most Outstanding Tennis Club for the City/Hills or Rural category.

The following clubs are in contention for the coveted 2023 awards:

City/Hills

Golden Grove Tennis Club: Membership and participation continues to grow at Golden Grove Tennis Club. New social offerings have created many opportunities for the club and the wider community, building a strong club culture. Tennis Hot Shots, school partnerships and retention are areas of focus to ensure the club has a bright future ahead.

Tea Tree Gully Tennis Club: Tea Tree Gully Tennis Club has a strong focus on participation, membership and financial organisation as they look ahead to a clubroom redevelopment in 2024. Coaching, competition, social and tournament play to meet the needs of all players, continues to see the 18-court complex utilised year-round.

Woodville Orion Tennis Club: Woodville Orion Tennis Club provides pathways for junior and senior players, across both hard and grass courts. Six separate social tennis competitions are held weekly to suit a variety of abilities and membership numbers continue to grow through coaching programs and competitions. Well maintained facilities have seen the club play host to a variety state and national tournaments and competitions.

Rural

Berri Tennis Club: Berri Tennis Club offers a variety of opportunities for club members to get involved from Tennis Hot Shots to junior, senior and veteran’s competitions. The club has recently introduced ‘Double Shots’ pop-up tennis to encourage lapsed players back to the sport, a move that they hope will see membership increase in years to come.

Renmark Tintra Lawn Tennis Club: Renmark Tintra Lawn Tennis Club offers a wide variety of programs to cater for all players ranging from social to competitive levels. Inclusivity is a core value for the club, with a variety of programs on offer to cater for women and girls, multicultural groups, those with a low socio-economic background and players who are blind or have low vision.

Strathalbyn Tennis Club: Strathalbyn Tennis Club prides itself on creating a family-friendly and welcoming environment to be enjoyed by all. The club actively encourages players of all ages and abilities to participate and a revitalised coaching program is seeing numbers increase throughout the Tennis Hot Shots programs on offer. A highlight was the club hosting its first tournament in several years, receiving positive feedback from those in attendance.

The award winners will be announced at the Tennis SA Gala Dinner to be held at The Drive on Saturday 29 April.
