Tennis SA is pleased to have come on board as a new partner of the Limestone Coast Regional Sporting Academy (LCRSA). Tennis specific skill sessions will be provided to 16 selected athletes, in the 13-and-under age group from across the Limestone Coast, on top of gym programs and education sessions.

“The LCRSA is committed to providing local athletes with the opportunity to achieve excellence in sport and life,” said Tony Elletson, LCRSA Coordinator.

“Tennis SA is an institution that also fosters excellence which is why we are so pleased they have chosen to partner with us.”

The Academy is currently providing 42 athletes from right across the Limestone Coast Region with Strength and Conditioning programs and elite education, and skill specific programs. This number will grow to 80 in total in 2020.

“There is enormous talent in regional areas, and this program helps athletes realise that talent. Athletes that do not live in the metro area face many hurdles in achieving their sporting goals.” Elletson continued.

“The Academy is working towards removing some of these hurdles for not only the athletes but the families as well.

“Tennis SA is going to provide the athletes with specialised elite coaching that will enhance and develop their talent. We look forward to supporting these athletes, along with Tennis SA to hopefully achieve their goals in the sport.”

Brett Hidson, Tennis SA General Manager – Venues and Government Relations was pleased to announce the partnership.

“Tennis SA is thrilled to come on board as a partner of the Limestone Coast Regional Sporting Academy,” Hidson said.

“Our partnership with the Limestone Coast Regional Sporting Academy will allow us to develop sustainable pathways and programs for grassroots and elite players based in the region.

“The partnership will also link seamlessly to our Foundation Cup pathway, increasing the opportunities available to players based outside of Metropolitan Adelaide.

“With an increase in resources at a regional level, we look forward to working closely with the Limestone Coast Regional Sporting Academy to develop a partnership that benefits players in the Limestone Coast long in to the future.”

Applications for the program open on Monday 30 September and close on Thursday 31 October at 5.00 pm. Applications can be found at the Academy website.
