The Port Pirie Come See Change Tennis International is now complete with our singles champion decided.
No.2 seed Lulu Sun (SUI) defeated top seed Jennifer Elie (USA) in straight sets in front of an enthusiastic crowd at the Port Pirie Tennis Association complex.
The young Swiss broke serve in the sixth game of the first set to go to 4-2 up and maintained her superior standard of play for the remainder of the match to close out the contest 6-2 6-3. Sun was understandably very pleased with her performance after the match and will take a lot of confidence going into the next stage of the Pro Tour swing in Perth this week.
On the other hand Elie was naturally disappointed, explaining that she couldn’t get generate sufficient racquet speed and power to trouble her younger opponent. Elie too will continue her Australian Pro Tour season in Perth.
