15 February 2019 | Tennis SA

Day 4 at the Port Pirie Come See Change Tennis International was completed with local players continuing to lead the way with Natasha Russell (SA) convincingly defeating Tayla Whitehouse (SA) and Charlotte Kempenaers-Pocz once again displaying her powerful game triumphing over fourth seed Jelena Stojanovic (WA) in straight sets. Amber Marshall (SA) also continued her great form, defeating third seed Valentina Ivanov (NZL) in straight sets.

Olivia Ley (SA) wasn’t as fortunate, falling to Olivia Symons (VIC) in a close match 4-6, 6-3, 6-2. Jennifer Elie (USA) and Lulu Sun (SUI) also recorded comprehensive straight sets wins against Zara Brankovic (NSW) and Amy Stevens (VIC) respectively.

Today’s singles quarter finals will feature Sun taking on Symons, Russell against Kempenaers-Pocz, Marshall versus Bojana Marinkov (NSW) and No. 1 seed Elie clashing with Alexandra Osborne (NSW).
