Day 3 at the Port Pirie Come See Change Tennis International saw top seed Jennifer Elie (USA) prove way too strong for qualifier Yasmina El Sayed (AUS) winning in straight sets without conceding a game. Elie is in devastating form and is clearly enjoying her return to Port Pirie.

Local junior qualifier Charlotte Kempenaers-Pocz (SA) also enjoyed a comprehensive win against Cyan Sun (Qld) triumphing in straight sets 6-1, 6-0. Fourteen year old Kempenaers-Pocz was absolutely delighted with her first win at Pro Tour level and thrilled the local crowd with her powerful shot-making.

Other players to progress through to the second round included local players Olivia Ley (SA) and Tayla Whitehouse (SA). Ley overcame Jessica Fowler (Tas) in a three set match that lasted well over two hours, while Whitehouse ousted seventh seed Lisa Mays (NSW) in two tight sets.

Second round singles matches commence today with eight great match-ups including Amy Stevens (Vic) up against second seed Lulu Sun (SUI), Tayla Whitehouse (SA) versus Natasha Russell (SA) and Michiru Furuya against Bojana Marinkov (NSW). The match of the day looks to be the third seeded Valentina Ivanov (NZL) playing against her doubles partner and local favourite Amber Marshall. All doubles quarter final matches will also be played today.
