Day 5 brought some surprises as the top seeds fell at the City of Playford Tennis International. Eighth seed Mats Moraing (GER) defeated men’s number one seed Lorenzo Sonego (ITA) 1-6 7-6(5) 6-4, while Chloe Paquet (FRA) took the win over women’s top seed Aliona Bolsova Zadoinov (ESP) 6-3 6-1.
South Australia’s 17-year-old Amber Marshall will headline Day 6 as she plays in her first ITF World Tennis Tour doubles final, taking on the Italian pairing of Giulia Gatto-Monticone and Anastasia Grymalska alongside partner Lulu Sun (SUI) in the first match on Court 8.
Meanwhile, Luke Saville (Cobdogla, SA) will take to Centre Court later in the afternoon for the men’s doubles semifinal, not before 2.00 pm.
