In Round 8 for the boys between West Lakes and Hahndorf it went down to the wire. West Lakes Jake Lukacs had a strong win over Hahndorfs Noah Phillips 9-4 to get his side off to a good start. Hahndorf bounced back taking rubbers 2 and 3, but West Lakes Christian Salmeron had an important 9-2 win over Hahndorfs Tay Crawford-Sandison to level it at 2 rubbers all heading into the doubles. West Lakes Jake Lukacs and Bradley Bannear were too strong winning 6-2 in the top doubles, but Hahndorf bounced back taking the second doubles 6-3. In the end West Lakes were too strong winning by a single game, notching their first win for the season.

Pembroke travelled down to Coromandel Valley where Pembroke’s Terry Karahalios had to step up to the number one spot and faced an in form Patrick Douglas, going down in a close tie break 9-8. Coromandel Valley’s Kristo Daminato and Brodie Johns had strong wins 9-5 and 9-6 respectively to give their side a 3-1 lead going into the doubles. Both doubles were very one sided with Coromandel taking the top doubles 6-0 and Pembroke taking the second doubles 6-1. Coromandel Valley kept their good forming going with a four sets to two win.

Tea Tree Gully travelled down to Glenlea and battled out a tight contest that came down to the doubles. Glenlea’s number 1 and 2 got their club off to a good start winning 9-3 and 9-5 respectively, but Tea Tree Gully bounced back winning the bottom two singles to keep them in it. It came down to the doubles where Tea Tree Gully found a way to win both 6-4 and give their team the win by four sets to two.

Trinity Titans had a major upset over top of the ladder Seacliff with a 6 sets to 0 win and set themselves in third position. Callum Gale and Dylan Truong had strong wins winning 9-2 and 9-3 respectively.

In the Statewide Super girls competition Hahndorf played Collingrove. Hahndorf’s Hayley Riessen was too strong for Collingrove’s Kate Brzostek who had to step up and play in the number one position going down 9-2. Hahndorf’s Kara Tscharke was dominant over Laila McColl winning 9-2. Collingrove’s Emily Glavas was once again strong at number four winning 9-2. Hahndorf then finished strong winning both doubles and winning overall five rubbers to one.

It was a battle between the second of the ladder Seaside and third on the ladder Pembroke. Seaside’s Tully Richter kept her good form going with a 9-2 win over Andrea Kristo. Pembroke then bounced back winning the next three singles with a strong performances from Elim Yan winning 9-1. In the doubles Seaside came away with the top doubles 6-4 but Pembroke were too strong in the second doubles winning 6-1. Pembroke winning the match four rubbers to two.

Peake Gardens came up against top of the ladder Seacliff and Seacliff kept their good form going with a six sets to zero win. Jasmine Adams bounced back after her first loss last week with a 9-2 win and Cydney Crumbie kept her good season going with a 9-0 win.
