Friday 2 November was round 4 of the Junior State League saw a one sided affair in the Boy’s competition with Seacliff defeating Hahndorf and Trinity defeating West Lakes six sets to zero. Seacliff and Trinity are now first and second respectively on the ladder.

Pembroke came up against a competitive Tea Tree Gully, Pembroke’s Ben Cahill winning top singles against Connor Gibson and also winning his first match of the season. Tea Tree Gully’s Connor Wallin gave his team their first set of the match beating Lachlan Hill 9-7. Pembroke’s Yan Carrol and Noah Coghlan came up on top winning their respective singles 9-3 and 9-5. Pembroke’s top doubles pair of Ben Cahill and Lachlan Hill gave their team the overall win over Tea Tree Gully winning 4 sets to 2.

Coromandel Valley kept their good start to the season going with a strong 4 sets to 2 win over Glenlea. Glenlea’s Stefan Bianchet made it difficult early on for Coromandel Valley winning his fourth straight singles 9-3. Coromandel Valley then bounced back winning the next 3 singles and giving their team a commanding lead going into the doubles, where they were too strong winning the second doubles and their team the overall win.

In the Statewide Super girls competition Pembroke came up against Collingrove, where Pembroke came out firing winning the top 3 singles. Collingrove’s Indiana Walton gave them some hope winning the bottom singles 9-5. Collingrove top doubles showed how dominant they can be winning 6-0 but Pembroke came out on top winning the bottom doubles and giving their team a 4 sets to 2 win.

Seacliff kept their impressive start to the season going with a 4 sets to 2 win over Seaside. Seacliff’s Jasmine Adams was impressive once again with a 9-3 win over Seaside’s Tully Richter. Cydney Crumbie winning 9-5 and Jessica Glavas winning comfortably 9-1, giving Seacliff a 3 sets to 1 lead going into the doubles. Seacliff’s top doubles stood strong again winning 6-2 and giving their team a win and securing top spot of the ladder.

In the match of the round between Peake Gardens and Hahndorf saw a very close encounter with it coming down to games. In the singles both teams managed to win two singles matches with Peake Gardens taking out the top two singles 9-8, 9-5. Hahndorf bounced back winning the bottom two singles convincingly 9-2, 9-3. It was the same story in the doubles with Peake Gardens too strong in the top doubles but Hahndorf were convincing once again in the bottom doubles winning it 6-2 and giving their team the win.
