Friday 25th January 2019, 12 noon – Member’s Dining Room, MCC Yarra Park, Jolimont.

The Australian Open tennis championships semi final twilight matches will again allow the scheduling of The Australian Davis Cup Tennis Foundation’s annual Australian Open Luncheon on Friday 25th January 2019 when members and guests will gather at 12 noon in the Member’s Dining Room at the Melbourne Cricket Club to celebrate the important anniversary of the 1973 Davis Cup victory played at Cleveland Ohio USA when Australia defeated USA 5/0, with a team nominated by Neale Fraser as one of the greatest teams of all times.

Neale Fraser has again invited notable Sports personality Leon Wiegard, to assist Fred Stolle, on the microphone, ably supported by our own Board member Rob Hinton.

An Opportunity to Meet Many Former Davis Cup Champions
Neale has extended a special invitation to the players who played during the year: John Newcombe, Rod Laver, Ken Rosewall, Mal Anderson, John Cooper and Geoff Masters, to be our special guests for this exciting occasion.

It is expected that a number of tennis dignitaries and many former Davis Cup players will also attend and invitations, amongst others, will be extended to Frank Sedgman, Ashley Cooper and our current Davis Cup Captain Lleyton Hewitt.

There will be a silent auction of some unique interesting sports memorabilia and our raffle, which aims to provide important financial support to the activities of the Foundation.

The cost for members is $150, guests $165 per person inclusive of premium beverages and an action packed program, a commemorative booklet compiled and donated by the Herald-Sun, with the luncheon providing a unique tennis experience.

For bookings please complete the Booking Form and forward to the Foundation with your remittance. For your convenience payment can be made by Credit Card or Direct Debit to our bank account.

If you encounter any difficulties whilst submitting a booking or wish to make an enquiry, please contact Judy Pullyblank in the Office on [email protected] or telephone 03 9499 6228.

Guests are particularly welcome to attend.
