The top seeds have made it through with relative ease on Day 1 of the 2018 12/u and 14/u Australian Grasscourt Championships being held at the Kensington Gardens Bowling and Tennis Club. In the 12s, [1] Mudiwa Munyimani (Vic) defeated Caspian Tuckwell (NSW) 6-1 6-2, whilst [1] Sarah Rokusec took a 6-1 6-0 victory over Yelena Kelleher (WA). In the 14s, Haru Sonton (Qld) overcame Lachlan Rook (NSW) 6-1 6-2 and [1] Taylah Lawless (NSW) defeated Ashleigh Ivanovski (Qld) 6-0 6-0.

In South Australian results, former National Champions, Edward Winter and Edward Vo moved through to the second round with relative ease. Winter took 6-0 6-0 victory over Charlie Snow (ACT), while Vo defeated Patrick Findlay (NT) 6-1 6-1

Fellow South Aussies, Angus Koeroessy, Ralph Catipay, David Reutlinger, Blake Hanlon, Ioanna Papastamouli, Anna Stewart, Rebecca Le Leu, Doni Gashi, Erica Williams, Mia Tsoukalas and Madison Schwarz have all progressed to the second round in front of a home crowd.

Day 2 will see second round singles matches completed, along with the beginning of the consolation, with matches starting at 9.30 am.
