Peake Gardens Riverside (girls) and Coromandel Valley (boys) have stormed to Tennis SA Junior State League victory following an action packed Friday evening at Memorial Drive Tennis Centre.

In the girls, Peake Gardens Riverside brought their A-game to upset the previously undefeated Seacliff side.

“We all played our best tennis and it was a great night with great competition,” Peake Gardens Riverside team representative, Hayley Waterman said.

“It feels great. We hadn’t beaten them all season, so it was very nice to get the win tonight.”

Meanwhile in the boys’ competition, defending champions Coromandel Valley took a commanding victory over Seacliff to claim back-to-back premierships.

“It was tough, we matched up pretty well in the end. We didn’t have our number one player, but the boys played well which was all that mattered,” Coromandel Valley team captain, Sam Sanderson said.

“We’ve had a good year in a tough competition, but it feels good to get the job done in the final,” Sanderson added.

Tennis SA CEO Steven Baldas was pleased to congratulate the winning sides.

“We are thrilled to congratulate the 2017/18 Tennis SA Junior State League champions, Peake Gardens Riverside and Coromandel Valley,” Baldas said.

“Both teams have had an outstanding season and their success is testament to their hard work and commitment.”
