The Junior State League competition has reached the first round of finals which saw four Semi-Finals being competed. One Boy and Girl team would be playing for their spot directly into the final and one boy and girl team would be fighting to stay in finals and not be eliminated.

In the Boy’s competition Coromandel Valley hosted Trinity Gardens in the first final. Coromandel Valley looked twice as strong to the previous season dismantling an undermanned Trinity side six rubbers to love. Coromandel Valley will now wait to see who they’ll face in the final and see if they are able to set another record and go back to back.

In the first elimination final Seacliff came up against Tea Tree Gully. Number one player for Seacliff Stefan Bianchet defeated a strong player in Dale Nixon. Alex Carroll got Tea Tree Gully on the board at two when he defeated Noah Koeroessy. Seacliff didn’t seem to feel the pressure as Lachlan Brain and Dylan Cerone had wins at three and four.

Tea Tree Gully’s top double pairing came out fighting as it was an all or nothing situation which saw Dale Nixon and Alex Carroll win at top doubles. Again Seacliff’s Brain and Cerone number two pairing didn’t seem too phased by the pressure that was on them defeating Connor Gibson and Richard Rosser to hand Seacliff a four rubbers to two victory. Seacliff will now look ahead for their match against Trinity Gardens.

In the Girl’s competition Seacliff continued their strong form when hosting Goodwood who were looking for an upset against the team they have been unable to beat this season but Seacliff had other ideas not allowing this to happen defeating their opponent’s six rubbers to Love.

In the elimination final Peake Gardens-Riverside came out firing against Happy Valley when Meeka Marshall defeated strong favourite for Player of the Year Heidi Evans this was then followed by Hayley Waterman, Mia Tsoukalas and Ashlee Shields who all won their respective singles handing Peake Gardens the win. The end result saw Peak Gardens win five rubbers to one with Happy Valley only being able to win in the top doubles.
