Having played some outstanding tennis this week, Marinko Matosevic (Vic) fell just short against Canada’s Brayden Schnur following an intense 3 hour, 10 minute battle, with Schnur taking the win 6-7(4) 7-5 7-6(3) and wildcard recipient Omar Jasika (Vic) pushed big serving American Reilly Opelka to the limit, with Opelka winning 7-6(5) 5-7 6-4.

Later in the day, Dalila Jakupovic (SLO) and Irina Khromacheva (RUS) were crowned the City of Playford Tennis International Women’s Doubles Champions following an intense 2-6 7-5 [10-5] victory over fourth seeds Junri Namigata/Erica Sema (JPN).
