Six Australians will continue to fly the flag following outstanding wins on Day 6 at the City of Playford Tennis International.

Qualifier Jason Kubler (Qld) started the morning with a 6-4 6-4 victory over eighth seed Uladzimir Ignatik (BLR) 6-4 6-4, with Alex Bolt (SA) following suit with a 6-4 6-3 win over wildcard Marc Polmans (Vic).

In the women’s, Alexandra Bozovic (NSW) overcame [5] Dalila Jakupovic (SLO) 4-6 6-3 6-3 and Zoe Hives (Vic) had a relatively straightforward victory over fourth seed Basak Eraydin (TUR) 6-4 6-4. Meanwhile, Vera Zvonareva’s comeback continues to the quarterfinals after she defeated Alexandra Dulgheru (ROU) 7-6(2) 2-6 6-4.

Doubles semifinals also took place this afternoon. Number one seeds Dalila Jakupovic (SLO)/Irina Khromacheva (RUS) will take on fourth seeds Junri Namigata/Erika Sema (JPN) in tomorrow’s final, whilst Maverick Banes/Jason Kubler (Qld) will play Mackenzie McDonald/Tommy Paul (USA) in Saturday’s final.

The Day 7 schedule includes singles quarterfinals and the women’s doubles final.

Marinko Matosevic will start the day against Brayden Schnur (CAN) on Centre Court, followed by Kubler and Bolt. Fellow Australian, Omar Jasika (Vic) will take on big serving American Reilly Opelka in the second match on Court 1.

Zvonareva will headline the women’s matches in the first match on Court 9 against [6] Marie Bouzkova (CZE), with Hives and Bozovic will also in action at 10.00 am.
