Day 1 of the City of Playford Tennis International has come to a close with 22 matches completed.

[8] Marinko Matosevic (Vic) opened Centre Court proceedings with a 6-2 6-2 win over Nathan Eshmade (SA). South Australia’s fifth seed Bradley Mousley made his way comfortably through to the second round with a straight sets victory over Matthew Romios (Vic) 6-3 6-4, Luke Saville defeated Ken Cavrak (Vic) 6-1 6-4 and Sean Van Rensburg defeated fellow South Australian Oliver Douglas in a tough three set match, 6-7(5) 6-2 7-6(3).

Amber Marshall (SA) defeated Elyse Edwards (SA) 6-2 6-4, Tiana Glasbrook (SA) took a comfortable win over Sarah Prescott (Vic) 6-0 6-0 and Tayla Whitehouse (SA) overcame Beatrice Hetrel (Vic) 6-1 6-3.

Day 2 will see plenty of South Australians in action. Bradley Mousley will take on Andrew Harris (Vic) opening Centre Court, followed by Luke Saville and Jason Kubler (Qld). Amber Marshall will take on second seed Allie Kiick (USA), Selina Turulja will play [4] Misa Eguchi (JPN), with Alexandra Cannizzaro against [8] Belinda Woolcock (Vic).
