Sunday 10 September saw Broadview Tennis Club play host to Tennis SA’s 2017 ANZ Tennis Hot Shots New York Slam.
The tournament attracted 20 children playing over Orange and Green Ball divisions. The red, white and blue flags were out on a beautiful sunny day, with great fun had by all!
With its modified environments, ANZ Tennis Hot Shots lets kids find success at tennis from a young age. The size of the court and racquet along with the compression of the ball (which alters bounce and speed in flight) are all designed to ensure players at each stage of development achieve success.
Orange Ball (8 and under): Charlie Grainger
Orange Ball (9 and 10 year olds): Jemma Glennon
Green Ball (9-12 year olds): Sebastian Hierro
Purple team – Campbell Partridge, Jemma Glennon, Isla Willsmore and Sebastian Hierro
Best dressed competition
Winner: Lia Kais
Thank you to all of the children and parents for their support of this event. Also, a big thank you to Martin Richards, Evelyn Richards and the Broadview Tennis Club Committee for hosting.
The ANZ Tennis Hot Shots New York Slam is part of Tennis SA’s ANZ Tennis Hot Shots Tournaments, a series of events designed to give kids a positive introduction to tournament play in an exciting and fun environment.
