Well the weather man was finally on our side for Day 4 of the 2017 12/u and 14/u Australian Grasscourt Championships.

In the 12/u Girls, the top four seeds of [1] Hana Sonton (QLD), [2] Catherine Auila (NSW), [3] Jessica-Jade Haylo (QLD) and [4] Cassidy Mataia (QLD) have all made their way through to tomorrow’s singles semifinals. Impressively, all four players will also take part in the doubles final tomorrow with Aulia/Sonton vs Haylo/Mataia.

Two South Aussies will feature in the 12/u Boys semifinals with second seed Edward Winter taking a hard fought win over [5] Kanika Jayathilake (QLD) 7-5 6-7(5) 6-1 and [7] Doni Gashi defeating Samuel English (WA) 6-0 7-5. The doubles final will be between [1] Jeremy Jin (NSW)/Owen Yu-Hao (QLD) and [3] Zachary Viiala/Kent Yamazaki (WA).

In the 14/u Girls, top seed Tina Smith (QLD) took a convincing win over [7] Alexandra San Andres (Vic) 7-5 6-0 and South Australia’s Charlotte Kempenaers-Pocz continued her winning ways with a 6-2 7-5 victory over fellow South Aussie Alana Repanich. In the boys, [2] Philip Sekulic (QLD) defeated Callum Gale (SA) 7-5 6-2 and [3] Cooper White took a strong win over Nicholas Salmon (Vic) 6-3 6-3.

Extraordinarily, the home state is guaranteed both of the 14/u Doubles Championships with Jasmine Adams/Repanich to play Kempenaers-Pocz/Maggie Pearce in the girls and Alex Carroll/Patrick Douglas to take on Terry Karahalios/Edward Vo in the boys.

Day 5 will see main draw singles semifinals take place at 9.30 am, with doubles finals not to be played before 3.30 pm.
