
Day 2 of the City of Onkaparinga Tennis Challenger 2017 saw seven matches completed in beautiful conditions. South Australians Alex Bolt and Luke Saville have both made their way through to the final round of qualifying. Bolt defeated fourth seed Andrey Golubev (KAZ) 6-4 6-1, whilst Saville overcame fellow South Australian Mislav Bosnjak 6-2 6-3.
In other matches, [3] Marinko Matosevic (Vic) defeated Steven De Waard (Qld) 6-2 6-2, Brydan Klein (GBR) overcame [7] Denis Shapovalov (CAN) 6-4 7-5, [2] Alexander Bublik (KAZ) defeated Sean Van Rensburg (SA) 6-1 6-2, Dayne Kelly (Vic) took the win over [5] Daniel Masur (GER) and in the only three set match for the day, [8] Yasutaka Uchiyama (JPN) defeated Harry Bourchier (Tas) 7-6(3) 3-6 6-4.
Day 2 also brought us the City of Onkaparinga Tennis Challenger 2017 Official Dinner, with the tournament opened by City of Onkaparinga Mayor, Lorraine Rosenberg. The singles main draw was also revealed to all in attendance.
Day 3 will see the final round of qualifying matches completed, with Matosevic taking on Saville in the first match on Court 6, along with Bolt against Kelly in the first match on Court 4. Tomorrow will also see sixth seed Darian King (BAR) and seventh seed Grega Zemlja (SLO) begin their main draw singles campaigns.
