After reviewing past survey feedback and speaking to the Tennis SA key stakeholders, the Tennis SA Board has approved the proposal for a change in format and time of year for the annual Tennis SA awards night.
The annual Tennis SA awards night will now move to late April 2017, at the end of the summer tennis season to reflect on performances and achievements for 2016/17 and to coincide with the State and Metro League awards night.
What does this mean for 2015/16 season? There will be no Tennis SA awards night in November 2016. State and Metro League awards for the 2015/16 season have already been presented (in April 2016) and will no longer be organised as a stand-alone-event.
The nomination process for the Australian Tennis awards has also been updated for 2016 and now all state award winners will automatically be nominated for their equivalent national award. Clubs are no longer be eligible to nominate directly for Australian Tennis awards.
For 2016, Tennis SA welcome any nominations for the national awards, however from 2017, the TA criteria will be used for both the Tennis SA nominations and the equivalent national awards, which will be presented at the Newcombe Medal ceremony in November.
Tennis SA will put forward the relevant winners from the 2015 Tennis SA awards as nominations for the 2016 Tennis Australia award categories. Nominations close Friday 28 October.

• Most Outstanding Athlete with a Disability
• Most Outstanding 35+ Tennis Senior
• Most Outstanding Australian Ranking Tournament
• Most Outstanding School
