All qualifying seeds took to the court for the first time on day 2 of the City of Onkaparinga ATP Challenger 2015, with eight matches completed in sunny conditions.

In the surprise match of the day, number one seed Stefano Travaglia (ITA) was taken out by Australia’s Andrew Whittington 6-3 7-5.

On Centre Court, South Australian, Darren Polkinghorne got off to a great start against Belgian second seed Maxime Authom, taking the first set 6-3, before Authom won the second and third sets 7-5 6-0 respectively.

Day 2 also brought with it two on court retirements early in the day. Number four seed Louk Sorensen (IRL) was forced to retire at 0-1 in the second set, having lost the first set 6-3, sending Australian Jacob Grills into the final round of qualifying. In similar circumstances, eighth seeded Nils Langer (GER) also retired at 0-1 in the second set, sending Australian Andrew Harris through to the next round.

In the top half of the draw, [7] Bryden Klein (GBR) defeated Sanchai Ratiwatana (THA) 6-3 6-2, [6] Tristan Lamasine (FRA) was too strong for Sanchai’s brother Sonchat (THA) 7-6 6-3. In the bottom half of the draw, [3] Axel Michon (FRA) defeated Christopher O’Connell (AUS) 6-2 6-2 and [5] Aldin Setkic (BIH) overcame Roman Safiullin (RUS) 6-2 6-3.

Matches will start at 10:00am tomorrow, with qualifying singles to be completed, followed by main draw singles and doubles headlined by the clash between number one seed Blaz Rola (SLO) and Australian wildcard recipient Omar Jasika,
