Inaugural City of Playford Tennis International singles champion Zoe Hives (Vic) is set to return, headlining the women’s field at the third edition of the event taking place at the Playford Tennis Centre from 28 October 2019 to 3 November 2019.

Hives, who currently sits at a career high ranking of 140, will be joined by a strong international field when the tournament kicks off in just over a week’s time.

Since winning her maiden $25,000 tournament at Playford in January 2018, Hives has gone on to win an additional four titles and made her Australian Open main draw debut earlier this year, making it to the second round with a win over Bethanie Mattek-Sands (USA).

Joining Hives will be top seed and world No.118, Priscilla Hon (Qld). Hon made her Australian Fed Cup debut against the United States of America in February this year, winning the deciding doubles match alongside world No.1 Ash Barty (Qld). Hon also reached her first Grand Slam second round at the French Open in May.

The 20 direct acceptances including five players from inside the world’s top 200 will be joined by four wildcards and eight qualifiers, with matches beginning on Monday 28 October.
