Day 5 started perfectly at the 2018 12/u and 14/u Australian Grasscourt Championships, before the weather gods turned on us seeing play suspended late in the afternoon.

Edward Vo (SA) defeated Eric Padgham (Qld) 6-4 6-2, while fellow South Aussie [4] Edward Winter overcame Arden Jared De Melo (WA) 6-4 6-7(6) 6-4. The winner of the title will become the first player in the history of the national Grasscourt Championships to have won both the 12/u and 14/u titles with Vo and Winter having previously won the 12-and-under titles in 2016 and 2017 respectively.

In the 14/u Girls, top seed Taylah Lawless (NSW) had a convincing win over Mia Tsoukalas (NSW) 6-4 6-1, whilst [7] Jessica-Jade Haylo (Qld) had a tougher time against [2] Talia Gibson (WA), eventually taking the win 7-5 1-6 6-3.

[1] Sarah Rokusek (NSW) defeated [5] Sienna Lawson (NSW) 6-2 6-0 to make her way to the 12/u Girls final, where she will meet Baihe (Lily) Lin (NSW) who defeated [6] Roisin Toireasa Gilheany (Vic) 6-4 7-6(1). The 12/u Boys final will be between the top two seeds after [1] Mudiwa Munyimani (Vic) defeated [4] Charlie Camus (ACT) 6-4 6-2 and [2] Jeremy Zhang (NSW) overcame [3] Cooper Errey (Vic) 6-2 6-7(5) 6-4.

The doubles finals took place late this afternoon. [4] Errey/Nicolas Tremblay (NT) ended the great run of unseeded South Australian combination, David Reutlinger/Michael Smith with a 6-2 7-5 victory in the 12/u Boys, whilst in the 12/u Girls, top seeds, Jessie Culley/Taylah Preston (WA) defeated third seeds, Sarah Rokusek (NSW)/Lily Fairclough (WA) in a thrilling final 3-6 6-4 [10-7].

The 14/u doubles finals were interrupted by rain and will be completed tomorrow.

Day 6 will be singles finals day, with matches starting at 9.00 am.
