Qualifier Patrick Harper (Qld) has caused a major upset to win his first ATP point after he defeated number two seed Bradley Mousley (Wynn Vale, SA) in straight sets. Harper, who was down match points in his opening round qualifying match was able to keep the pressure on Mousley throughout, to take away a 6-3 7-5 win.

South Australian Darren Polkinghorne (Port Lincoln, SA) was able to overcome losing the first set to move into the second round with a 6-7 6-2 6-2 win over Matthew Romios (Vic). Third seed Dayne Kelly (Vic) and fourth seed Harry Bourchier (Tas) also moved through to the second round with solid first round victories.

Wednesday will see local boy Luke Saville (Cobdogla, SA) in his first singles match, when he takes on fellow Aussie Jake Delaney (NSW) in a match expected to draw a strong crowd of local support for Saville.

Other exciting match ups for tomorrow include Matthew Barton (NSW) taking on Omar Jasika (Vic) and South Australian Nathan Eshmade up against big serving Scott Puodziunas (Qld). Matches will start at 10.00 am.
