4 September 2017 | Tennis SA

Tennis SA are excited to be running two ANZ Tennis Hot Shots Match Play Orange ball competitions in Term 4, 2017. With the success and positive feedback received over the last 12 months in regards to these orange ball competitions we are thrilled to be able to offer this opportunity again to all Western Districts and Glenelg Districts clubs in Term 4 2017.

Season structure

Matches will take place Saturday mornings at 10:30am throughout Term 4 with both competitions commencing on October 28. First round matches will be at a centralised location (venue TBC) to allow for a 10 minute parent information session prior to the beginning of matches. Both competitions will conclude on Saturday December 16 and will both take place, again, at a centralised location (venue TBC) to create a carnival atmosphere and allow for presentations and a BBQ to take place. A home and away fixture will be utilised for all other rounds.

Team and match formats

Teams will consist of three players each week with each player playing one singles match and two doubles matches. Each match will be one set first to 4 games with matches timed at 25 minutes. This ensures each player is always playing matches as well as all matches being completed within a 90 minute time frame.

Court set up and balls

All matches will be played using orange balls and courts will be set out using Orange Ball guidelines.  Parents’ attendance and support at matches helps to ensure games are enjoyable, run smoothly and a family atmosphere is created.
