Ken McGregor Funding

The Ken McGregor Fund (KMF) was established by Tennis SA to:

  1. Support the development of South Australia’s emerging tennis players.
  2. Provide the necessary resources to support pathways to continue our proud tennis tradition.
  3. Support and provide tennis opportunities for people with a disability.

Since its inception in 2009, the Ken McGregor Fund has issued funding in-excess of $150,000 which has supported more than 65 players.

Support has previously been by way of individual applications for high performance athletes and athletes with a disability.

With changes to the National Development Squad across the country the Ken McGregor Fund decided that it was time to adjust the way players would be supported in 2024 and beyond.

As such, individual applications for funding have ceased. This has been replaced with KMF Scholarships (KMFS) which will be awarded annually.

The purpose of the Ken McGregor Fund Scholarship (KMFS) is to support tennis players aged 12 to 24 from South Australia to develop their elite potential or to support players with special needs to compete at an elite level.

The number of scholarships and the amount provided will be determined annually by the Ken McGregor Fund.

In addition to this, the KMF will support the annual State Team Events by subsidising costs for selected players.
