Club Sustainability

Health Indicator of Tennis

Thriving Tennis Communities is a strategy developed specifically to assist Clubs, Coaches and Councils to better understand the sustainability of tennis facilities, and plan together for the future.

Good quality and well managed facilities with progressive participation pathways are essential to the development of tennis in Australia. Tennis understands that coaches are a key contributor to this.

For clubs, who are often the head lessee for a venue, understanding what is required financially to make the venue sustainable along with what programs and products could be used to achieve this figure is of the utmost importance. This knowledge can help shape everything from management models, club/coach agreements, membership and casual court hire pricing and so on.

HIT Tool aims to:

  • Measure the sustainability of each tennis venue individually, and across the entire LGA.
  • Provide clubs with an understanding of areas in which they can improve for the long-term sustainability of the venue as well as a clear understanding of what financial benchmarks need to be met.
  • Provide Coaches with clear feedback on opportunities at their venue and an understanding of what is required for the venue to be sustainable long term – and ultimately how clubs and coaches need to work together.
  • Provide councils with a clear line of sight to what is happening at their venue, how the community can engage with it and where the investment will be needed across the LGA.
