Day 6 of the City of Onkaparinga ATP Challenger 2016 has been another warm and blustery day at Happy Valley with the second round singles matches completed to set up tomorrow’s quarter-final round clashes.

Number one seed, Dudi Sela (ISR) had a comprehensive 6-3 6-1 win over Dayne Kelly (Vic) on Centre Court, whilst Marton Fucsovics (HUN) defeated the second-to-last Australian standing with a 6-1 6-4 win over Maverick Banes (QLD). In other matches, Hiroki Moriya (JPN) defeated Andrey Golubev (KAZ) 4-6 6-3 6-2 and Jan Satral (CZE) defeated qualifier Peter Polansky (CAN) 7-5 6-1.

The completion of the doubles quarter-finals saw Sela and Igor Sijsling (NED) take the win over Harry Bourchier (Tas) and South Australia’s Bradley Mousley, to meet second seeds Denys Molchanov (UKR)/Aleksandr Nedovyesov (KAZ) in tomorrow’s semi-final. In the other half of the draw, fourth seeds Brydan Klein (GBR)/Polansky defeated Uladzimir Ignatik (BLR)/Satral 6-1 7-6(4) to set up a semi-final meeting against Matteo Donati (ITA)/Golubev, who overcame Steven De Waard (QLD) and Marc Polmans (Vic) 6-4 6-4.

Day 7 is singles quarter-final day, headlined by eighth seed Taylor Fritz (USA) taking on South Australia’s Alex Bolt on Centre Court, starting at 11:00am. In the second match on Centre Court, not before 12:00noon, Sela will take to the court against Satral for a place in the semi-finals, followed by Moriya against Fucsovics. On Court 6, Australian qualifier Andrew Whittington (Vic) will play Austrian, Dennis Novak, not before 12:00noon. Doubles semi-finals will also feature tomorrow.
