Day 3 of the City of Onkaparinga ATP Challenger 2016 has come to a close with eleven matches completed in blustery conditions. Qualifying matches have come to an end today, with the Aussie main draw contingent boosted by the inclusion of Maverick Banes (QLD), Dayne Kelly (Vic) and Andrew Whittington (Vic), however Marinko Matosevic (Vic) has been bundled out in straight sets by Peter Polansky (CAN) 6-4 6-4.

In main draw matches, it was a spectacular day for the South Aussies with Alex Bolt defeating third seeded Alejandro Gonzalez (COL) in straight sets, 6-3 6-4 and Bradley Mousley defeating Serbia’s Laslo Djere, 7-5 7-5. In other matches, eighth seed Taylor Fritz (USA) defeated wildcard recipient Marc Polmans (Vic) 6-2 6-2 and in a tight match, Dennis Novak (AUT) defeated seventh seed Renzo Olivo (ARG) 7-5 7-6(0).

Day 4 is headlined by number one seed, Dudi Sela (ISR) hitting Centre Court for the first time against Uladzimir Ignatik (BLR) and second seed Bjorn Fratangelo (USA) taking on Whittington. Other seeded players in action will include [4] Igor Sijsling (NED), [5] Aleksandr Nedovyesov (KAZ) and [6] Grega Zemlja (SLO).
