The finals of the Junior ATL were held at Next Generation on Sunday 22nd of November.

The Boys Final saw Southern Districts Tennis Association take on North East Tennis Association.

Josh Laka of SDTA prevailed in a very entertaining battle against Dale Nixon 2-4 4-2 4-3 in the first singles match of the morning. In a see-saw battle which saw the momentum swing numerous times throughout the match, Josh put SDTA on the board with a tiebreak win in the final set.

Stefan Bianchet came up against Bradley Smith in the second match. Stefan was dominant in his 4-0 4-2 win, giving SDTA a perfect start.

Blake Lowan of NETA gave the team some hope early in his match against Stan Karahalios. Blake raced to a 4-1 first set win, before Stan fought back and secured the next two sets to take a 1-4 4-1 4-1 victory.

Rounding out the singles matches, Jock Piper defeated Chris Hoang 4-1 4-2 to give SDTA an unassailable lead heading into the doubles matches.

SDTA rounded out a 6 Rubbers to 0 clean sweep with Josh Laka and Stan Karahalios defeating Dale Nixon and Blake Lowan 4-0 4-2, whilst Stefan Bianchet and Jock Piper defeated Bradley Smith and Matt Hoang 4-0 4-1.

In the Girls Final, Western Districts Tennis Association came up against Southern Districts Tennis Association.

In a re-match of their battle in the minor round, Serena Williams of WDTA and Jacqui Scott of SDTA faced off again. Jacqui got SDTA off to a perfect start with a 4-1 4-2 win. Tully Richter of WDTA played against Lucy Eaton of SDTA in the second singles match of the morning. Tully had a 4-1 4-0 win to square the ledger at 1 rubber all.

Maggie Pearce was ruthless in her singles match, playing some exceptional Tennis to secure a 4-0 4-0 win against Cydney Crumbie. Caitlyn Wyatt also had a win for WDTA, defeating Ebony Harper 4-1 4-2 to give WDTA a 3 rubbers to 1 lead heading into the doubles rubbers.

Jacqui Scott and Cydney Crumbie kept SDTA in the match securing their doubles match against Serena Williams and Maggie Pearce 4-1 4-2 to take the match to the final rubber.

Lucy Eaton and Ebony Harper pushed the doubles rubber against Tully Richter and Millie Pearce all the way, but Tully and Millie ended up winning the match and securing victory for WDTA with a 4-2 4-3 win as WDTA claimed a 4 rubbers to 2 victory.

A big thanks to all 6 Associations for competing in the 2015 Junior ATL. There was some great Tennis played throughout the four weeks of competition. It was great to see Angus Thomson, who the Junior ATL is named after, presenting the medals to the winners and runner-up competitors and presenting the shield to the winning associations.
