Senior Coach

Overview

Future Demand Tennis is looking for an Experienced Senior Coach to join their team for the beginning of Term 1, 2018.

The successful coach would be required to work a minimum of 4 days per week (3 afternoons, 1 weekend, 3 mornings and 1 lunch time) with scope to grow for the right candidate. We are looking for a coach with a minimum of a Tennis Australia Junior Development Qualification who has extensive coaching experience and is passionate about their work. All our coaches must have an up-to-date Working with Children Check, Police Check, hold a current Victorian Driver’s License and currently live in Melbourne.

We are looking for a coach who is driven, self-motivated, has a great knowledge/love of the game. They will also understand the importance of retention and someone who is reliable and honest. We expect our new Senior Coach to have a high level of understanding when it comes to delivering the ANZ Hot Shots Program. Note only does the role cover Junior classes but the applicant will be required to coach Adult Classes, deliver FitBit Cardio Tennis, take Private Lessons and run Junior Squads.

On top of delivering after school Hot Shots Classes, our new Senior Coach would be required to run National Schools Partnership Programs with various local schools, coach Term-by-Term Holiday Programs and host internal ANZ Hot Shots Match Play Sessions.

This role would suit a coach who is looking to expand their coaching knowledge and increase their hours on court. Our company provides fantastic learning opportunities for staff (8 internal Personal Development Sessions per year and funds are allocated to each coach for training) With the vast range of programs on offer, there are many opportunities for the successful candidate to grow their hours and knowledge. Pay is negotiable and dependent on prior knowledge, experience and qualifications. Incentive schemes are available to the right candidate.

Overview

HTC is seeking a new Head Coach to operate a full time coaching business at our club for the start of Term 2 2018, as we transition from our departing coach.

Assistant Coach

Overview

Located just 5 minutes from the CBD we are looking for a new coach to join our team in a part time role. The role will mainly involve coaching adults in a group setting as well as some private coaching and cardio tennis so experience in these areas is essential.

At this stage the coaching will be mainly in the evenings but ideally you will live close by and be able to coach early mornings when required. The morning work will be predominantly private lessons with players of varying standard so it is important that all applicants are strong players themselves. There is also work available on weekend mornings.

All up to begin with we can offer applicants between 10-15 hours of coaching to begin with room to increase this especially over summer.

All applicants must have a valid Working with children’s check, first aid certificate and a Junior Development or equivalent qualification. Hourly rate will be based on qualifications and experience.

Head Coach

YMCA Victoria are currently seeking a Self-Employed Coaching Provider for our 4-court tennis facility in Dandenong North, located at the Lois Twohig Reserve.

This is a unique opportunity for someone looking to start and grow a business in a well-located and untapped community facility without a traditional club structure.

An office and storage space will be provided to the successful applicant with further space available for additional usage (e.g. pro-shop offering) upon request. In addition, a further two tennis courts and clubhouse are also available for programming at a nearby recreation reserve should the successful applicant also wish to utilise them.

About the facility:

Lois Twohig Reserve has four plexipave tennis courts (2 lit) and a spacious clubhouse located in a recreation reserve in Dandenong North. These courts are located directly opposite a large Primary School in a recreation reserve featuring junior football and soccer clubs. YMCA Victoria manages this facility as part of their City of Greater Dandenong recreation contract.

Minimum Qualifications:

· Tennis Australia Club Professional Coach (or a Junior Development Coach with a commitment to undertake the Club Proffesional course)

Senior Coaching Leader

With the support of Tennis Australia, Tennis Victoria is currently looking for a highly motivated, organised and enthusiastic Senior Coaching Leader to join our expanding and high achieving team, in this exciting, newly established role – with a start date planned for 1 April 2018.  This role reports to the General Manager – Government Relations & Places to Play, with a strong liaison to the Tennis Australia Coach Development Manager.  In addition to managing three Coaching Leaders, the role will encompass a specific geographic area of Victoria.

The network of over 900 active professional tennis coaches in Victoria are crucial to the success of the sport, and ultimately achieving Tennis’ vision of one million connected Australians.  Working closely with Tennis Australia’s Coach Development staff and the wider Tennis Victoria team, you will successfully lead a team whose key role is to assist professional tennis coaches to have the best possible relationships with all local stakeholders, to maximize the number of people learning tennis and transitioning to playing the game. You will be likely to have a background in or strong understanding of the tennis coaching industry, and be able to build strong relationships with coaches and other stakeholders to influence success.

The Senior Coaching Leader is ultimately responsible for supporting coaches to drive business growth through embracing the excellent services and professional development available through Tennis Australia Coach Membership and other sources. This role will also be integral to supporting coaches to maintain healthy and positive relationships with key stakeholders such as tennis clubs, local schools and competition deliverers.  The Senior Coaching Leader will play a critical role in influencing and supporting coaches to increase the number of junior players transitioning from school play and coaching programs to Hot Shots Match Play and Junior Competition.  Together with Tennis Victoria’s Participation Leaders, School Development Coordinators, Match Play Coordinators and others, you will be a key member of local teams in the field, doing all things necessary to increase participation.

To be successful in this role, your strengths and qualifications will include:

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to evoke the cooperation of stakeholders across a wide range of organisations (including volunteers, coaches, LGAs and schools).
  • Minimum of 15 years of demonstrated experience in sports administration, and community participation pathways.
  • Experience in, and successful track record in working as part of, and managing and motivating a team.
  • Ability to demonstrate proven results by recognising and building working relationships using a strategic mindset.
  • Strong understanding of the tennis coaching industry and external influences affecting the delivery of sport and participation.
  • Understanding of the tennis environment and the various stakeholders it engages.
  • Demonstrated experience of successful business planning and practice.
  • High level organisational skill with a focus on attention to detail.
  • High computer literacy with Microsoft suite and database management.
