Fireball Tennis Academy has an exciting senior coaching/management position available for an immediate start.

We are hiring a Head of Tennis coach manager role for one of our key existing venues. The position is perfect for either an experienced coach looking for greater opportunities and job security, or a young Junior Development coaching looking at taking the next step in their coaching career, as this role will include both on court and off court hours (see below for specific roles).

The successful applicant will be part of an exceptional and motivating Fireball work environment where we have over forty coaches and the support of a full back end off court team from marketing and HR and right through to High Performance and Member Services.

Reports To: Director and Fireball High Performance Manager

Key Relationships: Business Development Manager, Member Services Coordinator, Marketing Coordinator, Local Club Committee, Parents, Coaching Group

Hours of work: Thirty eight hours per week (full time)

Remuneration: Flexible either $40 an hour on court, and 25 off court, or annual salary between $55,000-65,000 dependent on experience and qualifications.

Position Overview:

The Fireball Head of Tennis is responsible for developing and growing a self-sustaining vibrant local Fireball Tennis Community Club in accordance with the directors designated KPI’s.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Exceptional On-Court presence, delivering a minimum of thirty on court coaching hours across a six day a week coaching roster, and delivering a range of Fireball Tennis Academy programs.
  2. Manage and develop great working relationships with club committee (attendance of regular committee meetings).
  3. Cultivate and manage local Fireball tennis coaching team to ensure they represent the highest standards and deliver Fireball Programs and Special Events. This will involve selection, education and management. Particular focus will be on Assistant Head of Tennis through providing on going mentorship and support.
  4. Grow and manage clubs Fireball ANZ Tennis Hot Shots Match Play Sunday morning competition in accordance with directors KPI’s.
  5. Monitor attraction and retention rates, implementing strategies to ensure Directors KPI’s in these areas are met.
  6. Grow and manage club local Saturday Morning competition participation numbers in accordance with directors KPI’s.
  7. Build and manage strong local school relationships, through regular Fireball Tennis Promotional clinics, Sporting School grants, in house weekly programs, and collaborating with Fireball Marketing manager to ensure club receives strong exposure in local school advertisements and community events, ie school fates.
  8. Ensure day-to-day operations are smooth from managing stock, facilities and equipment inventory right through to ensuring all programs and special events are run in accordance with best standards.
  9. Manage and grow awareness to the following exclusive Fireball special events, Fireball Bring a Friend Week, Fireball Competency and Player Assessment Week, and Fireball School Holiday Tennis Clubs.
  10. Grow and develop vibrant local tennis club community and culture through developing and implementing at least two local club events per term.
