Key Responsibilities

Qualifications and Experience

Performance Coaching Position Vacant (2 available):

The on-court coaching hours will be a predominately be working within our Squad Program and private lessons.

  • The coach must be able to write lesson plans for the program, showing progression programs for the players.
  • The coach will be required to complete tournament planning for the players within the program they work with.

Bendigo is a great, affordable city with easy access to Melbourne.About the Role:We’re offering a casual or permanent position starting with 20+ hours per week with the chance to take on more, depending on availability and experience.

We are starting many new initiatives trying to get tennis and other racquet sports thriving in Bendigo and surrounds. Lots of ideas are flying around and we need some help!

About the role

Reporting into the Head Coach – Melbourne Park and Albert Reserve, in this role you will:

  • Strive to deliver the best coaching possible.

  • Actively involve all students on court and identify areas for improvement or skill development.
  • Lead by example on and off the court and display the standards, expectations and behaviours expected of our coaching team
  • Provide strong communication to coaching participants both on and off the court and ensure correct communication procedures are followed.
  • Attend regular meetings and relevant training sessions.

About you

What you will bring to the role: 

  • Tennis Australian coaching registration–maintained and updated regularly.
  • Tennis Australia Development Coach (Level 1) or the commitment and ability to acquire a Development Coach (Level 1) qualification within 12 months.
  • Min 2 years Tennis Coaching experience.
  • Experience working with all ages and abilities (e.g. pre-schoolers through to adults).
  • Senior Level 2 First Aid.
  • You must hold (or be willing to obtain) a current Police Check and Working with Children Check.

Head Coach

Overview

Ace Fun Tennis School is looking for Senior and Assistant coaches to join our growing team in 2025.You will be responsible for delivering Hot Shots and Cardio Tennis classes. You will not need to perform any administrative tasks if you do not wish. Full uniform is supplied. License and own transport is advised. We have 16 coaches coaching everyday and we coach over 480 students at present every week at the 3 venues. We seek committed, reliable, honest, long term coaches with a desire to improve students tennis skills on and off the court. Some experience is necessary, however, training will be provided and professional development is encouraged. Ace Fun Tennis School pride itself on putting children at the front of our business model and philosophy.The coaching hours will involve working with the below coaching programs:

  • Little Joey (ages 3-5)
  • Hot Shots (ages 5-12)
  • Junior Groups (ages 13-18)
  • Adult Groups
  • Private Lessons
  • Cardio Tennis

The coach will also be required to work in additional programs such as holiday programs and UTR Tournament / Match Play.

The successful applicants must have:

  • A passion for tennis and for working with children
  • The ability to develop and build strong professional relationships with our team, students, parents, club members and the tennis community

  • Show initiative and creativity

We ask that you share our passion for creating a safe and encouraging environment for our students. We coach all ages and all level of play. You can coach 1 day, 2 days, 3 days or 7 days per week. We are looking for long term coaches. As the Head Junior Tennis Coach, you’ll take the reins of our junior program. This includes providing expert guidance and conducting group & private lessons to juniors (ages 5 – 18).

There is additional development to act as an emergency coach for the adult program when needed. Your hands-on approach and ability to understand the basics of tennis is fundamental, along with the responsibility of devising lesson plans for our coaching team. There’s also an optional opportunity to engage in administrative work, and most importantly, this role offers ample space for personal and professional growth, serving as an excellent stepping stone for those eyeing their future tennis club.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead and elevate the junior tennis program with your expertise and passion
  • Conduct engaging and skill-focused private lessons for various skill levels children & adults
  • Act as an emergency coach for the adult program, stepping in when required.
  • Design and manage lesson plans for the coaching team
  • Optional involvement in administrative tasks, with a chance to grow within the role.

Salary:

Full Time Position – $70,000 per year salary

Part Time Position – Hourly Rate TBA
