It is an exciting time for tennis in Australia, and we have ambitious plans to continue to grow the game from grassroots through to high performance. To do this we are transforming how we deliver tennis, with the aim of offering more opportunities for more players and a greater role for personal coaches in identifying and developing our future talent. We are now looking for a Talent Programs Assistant Coach to join the team and help us deliver on these plans.

You will work with the National Development Squad Coach (NSW) to implement, manage, and deliver all Talent Development initiatives. This is an opportunity to evolve an already established program as you will play a key role in the National development squads and player support initiatives. You will be responsible for cultivating strong relationships with a broad range of stakeholders to deliver holistic high-level results.

In this role you will:

  • Drive the implementation and management of Zone Squads, and age and gender-based teams competitions
  • Facilitate initiatives in identifying, selecting, and supporting Talent Development coaches
  • Partner with the National Development Squad Coach in the delivery of National Development Squad programs
  • Collaborate with the National Development Squad Coach, National Tennis Academy Head Coach and Tours, Camps and College Manager, as required, to support the facilitation of state and national camp offerings
  • Own the holistic development of National Development Squad and Zone Squad players

What you will bring to this role:

  • Preparedness to be flexible regarding working hours and willingness to travel nationally and internationally
  • Sound knowledge and understanding of Performance tennis coaching as well as strong administration, organisational, and IT skills
  • Demonstrated ability to build professional relationships with Talent Development coaches
  • Proven knowledge of all aspects of player development
  • Tertiary qualification in physical education, sport science, human movement is preferred
  • Must hold a Club Professional qualification at minimum and be willing to obtain a High-Performance qualification (or equivalent)
  • TA coach member or willingness to become a TA coach member is essential
  • You must hold (or be willing to obtain) a current Police Check and Working with Children Check.
