Tennis Auckland is responsible for the leadership of tennis in Central, West, East and South Auckland. We have 53 clubs, 12,300 club members and 1075 interclub teams.

Tennis Auckland delivers a range of domestic tennis tournaments and competitions which are held at its facilities.

Across the region ~ 5,000 participants take part annually in the suite of National Programmes (Tennis Hot Shots, Cardio Tennis and Tennis Xpress), with 10% of this number currently taking part in these programmes weekly within a Tennis Auckland facility.

In addition to our domestic/community activities, Tennis Auckland delivers the iconic ASB Classic WTA and ATP events each year.

Join our team of 12 dedicated professionals committed to delivering a world class coaching program. Our team prides itself on fostering a supportive and collaborative atmosphere, where every coach contributes to creating an enriching environment for both players and staff.

We are seeking a Lead Coach to enhance our team, someone who is adept at expanding programs through pathways, exhibits strong leadership qualities, and radiates enthusiasm. The ideal candidate should possess a solid coaching background, outstanding communication abilities, and an enthusiasm for mentoring both players and coaches. As the Lead Coach, you will be instrumental in molding the future of tennis in Auckland, propelling our players’ development, and aiding in our team’s ongoing growth.

+ About the Role

Reporting to the Head of Coaching, the key responsibilities include:

  • Facilitate maximal growth in all people who start their tennis journey with Tennis Auckland
  • Oversight of weekly themes and lesson plans that are required for consistent program delivery
  • Work closely with our Junior Coaches to grow and develop their coaching abilities
  • Plan and conduct holiday programs and camps to compliment weekly in term lessons
  • Promote an effective, satisfying and productive working environment within the coaching team

+ About You

What you will bring to the role:

  • Tennis Australia Development Course OR Club Professional (or ITF Level 1 or 2 equivalent), if not, be willing to obtain this course under the Tennis New Zealand Coach Development program
  • Extensive experience coaching tennis at key reputable venues, and a successful track record
  • Experience working with all ages and abilities (e.g. Tennis Hot Shots through to adults)
  • Proven knowledge of technique and on-court decision-making strategies
  • Highly effective organisational and communication skills
  • Current Level 1 First Aid certificate
  • On the Tennis New Zealand Coach Register (or be willing to) https://tennis.kiwi/coaches/

School Coach

Overview

Our Tennis Academy in Thailand is working with one of the most prestigious International Schools in S.E. Asia. located on the beautiful Chao Phraya River in downtown Bangkok. You will be working directly under multiple International coaches with close to 50 years of tennis management experience between them.

The school we work with expects its sporting provider companies and their staff to be of the highest standard including appearance, ability to communicate with students and parents and ability to deliver International level tennis lessons.

  • Students in the tennis and pickleball programs are aged 4 years to 18 years old
  • Work hours are generally from 2.30pm – 7.00pm Monday to Friday as well as one day per weekend during school terms.
  • The majority of the work is running junior development squad sessions and proof of experience in this area of coaching is essential
  • Experience working within a private school environment is also highly preferable
  • Holiday programs – touring programs and tournament travel is available over the holiday break
  • Salary will be 60,000 – 70,000 THB per month depending on the experience of the applicant and there is opportunities to increase this with additional hours of coaching during the day with private tennis lessons
  • Work visa and Work Permit will be organised through our company
  • Staff are required to have a clear Police Check in all countries they have worked in over the past 10 years and will need to obtain a clear finger print Police Check in Thailand. Failure to provide this will make you invalid for employment.

Work is available to commence in October 2024 or sooner for the right candidate and we are looking for someone to commit to a minimum of 2 years contract.
