Overview

We are seeking an enthusiastic and reliable person, who is passionate about tennis, has adequate communication skills and is confident with children to assist the Head Coach in conducting all types of lessons including Hot Shots, Cardio Tennis, and Private lessons for all ages.

Coaching is currently conducted Tuesday to Friday generally between 4 – 8pm and Saturday 8am -12.30pm, we attempt to be as flexible as possible when it comes to fitting the lessons around the successful applicants schedule if they have other commitments like kids, University/Tafe or a primary job.

Our coaching program is expanding but currently limited by the availability of assistant coaches and we are looking for someone who is prepared to start out with a few hours across a few afternoons, with the potential to increase hours and opportunities.

The applicant should be able to play tennis at a reasonably high standard, have a good understanding of (or be willing to learn) the correct techniques and be able to accurately feed tennis balls to students. Some past experience and a qualification in tennis coaching is preferred.

The applicant must be willing to learn and apply the coaching methods, techniques and standards expected by our program. The hourly rate of pay will be determined based on the level of experience and qualifications of the applicant and/or the current award rate.

To be considered for this role you will be a Certified Tennis Professional (ideally Club Pro Level) with an extensive tennis history.   • First Aid Administration:

  • Court Maintenance:
    • Oversee court cleanliness and ensure they are in optimal playing condition.
    • Report any maintenance issues to the appropriate channels for prompt resolution.
  • Booking and Reservation Management:
    • Have knowledge of the court booking systems and assist players with the reservation process when needed.
    • Ensure accurate recording of court bookings, cancellations, and payments.
  • Promotions and Events:
    • Assist in the organization and execution of promotions, social events, and tournaments.
    • Liaise with the Food & Beverage providers onsite and handle any queries they may have regarding operations
  • Safety and Compliance:
    • Enforce safety rules and regulations on the courts.
    • Monitor player behaviour to ensure a respectful and inclusive environment.

Qualifications:

  • Availability to work flexible hours, including evenings, early mornings, and weekends.
  • Previous customer service experience is preferred.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong accountability and able to work autonomously with no supervision
  • Knowledge of Tennis & Pickleball rules and regulations is a plus but not required
  • Certification in First Aid is required (we can facilitate your certification)
  • Ability to multitask and handle various responsibilities simultaneously.
