A global field is heading west this week for the Margaret River International women’s Pro Tour event, proudly sponsored by the Shire of Augusta – Margaret River.

Countries represented include Russia, Japan, France, USA, Belguim, Thailand, Slovakia, China and Estonia.

The top is Olivia Rogowska, the Aussie once ranked as high as No.108, and who has achieved some excellent results on the Pro Tour in the past 12 months, most notably a run to the title in Burnie.

Seeded second is Erika Sema from Japan, who peaked at world No.114 in 2011 and currently sits at No.173.

Other big names in the field include:

  • Monique Adamczak, the Australian veteran who was a Burnie Pro Tour finalist and who owns a career-high ranking of No.138
  • Zuzana Zlochova from Slovakia, a recent finalist at the Toowoomba Pro Tour event
  • Irina Falconi, a former top 100 player from the United States who reached the third round of the US Open in 2011 and second round at the French Open in 2012
  • Azra Hadzic, another home-grown talent who triumphed at the recent Cairns Tennis International Pro Tour event.

Flying the Western Australian flag in Margaret River will be Jessica Moore, a former world No.132 and who progressed to the second round at both the Australian and US Opens during her career.
