23 September 2021 | Tennis West

Tennis West is calling for applications for 2 x Board Director Positions for election in accordance with its current Constitution. Each Director will be appointed for three years. Tennis West is the governing body of Tennis in WA. Our central role is to ensure the commercial viability of tennis, oversee the development of grassroots programs, manage competitions and tournaments, and promote tennis at all levels. Members of Tennis West are the affiliated tennis clubs, of which there are just under 200 across Western Australia.  Tennis West has approximately 26 staff located across three locations; Burswood, Geraldton and Busselton.

Following this AGM on 23 November 2021, the Tennis West Board will consist of 6 Elected Directors and 3 Board Appointed Directors. All positions are voluntary.

Individuals considering applying for a board role need to ensure they are committed to the strategic directions of Tennis West and that they are prepared to actively contribute through sub committees to the workload of the Board. A clear understanding of the roles and expectations of a board director is also essential.

Nominations close at 12:00pm on Friday 8 October 2021 and the Nominations Committee will consider the nominations, evaluate against the priority criteria and provide advice to Club Delegates who will vote for these positions. Under the new constitution, voted in at the Special General Meeting on 20 July 2021, online voting will be conducted to nominate and vote for Board Director positions. Utilising the secure ‘GoVote’ platform, online voting will open Monday 8 November and close at 12:00pm on Tuesday 23 November, the day of the Annual General Meeting. There will be no voting taking place in person at the AGM. The announcement of successful Board Directors will occur at the AGM.
