The Pizzey Cup is a National schools tennis championship open to boys and girls aged 18 and under. A singles event known as the Australia Cup runs alongside the Pizzey Cup. Teams are made up of eight players and each State plays each other once. At the conclusion of the tournament an All-Australian team is selected based on these results.

This year the event was held in Shepparton, Victoria.

The Western Australian team performed exceptionally well this year and were Silver Medalists with convincing wins against the other States/Territories and a nail biting win over Queensland. It should also be noted that after 14 years, WA finally beat Victoria!

New South Wales ended the week victorious giving Western Australia it’s only loss.

Congratulations to Tristan Schoolkate, Will Hann, Connor Enslin, Gen Naraya and Luna Jokanovic for being selected onto the All-Australian team. Lexie Weir was presented with a three year award and performed well all week as the number 1 player. Will Hann was a singles semi finalist of the Australia Cup and special mention goes to Tristan Schoolkate for winning the Australia Cup and remaining undefeated during the week!

The WA team was managed by Andrea Rundle, Alison Kirk and Simon Cockburn. A huge thank you to the Managers on doing a great job and well done to everyone on a fantastic week.
