PARTICIPATION LEADER

We are currently looking for a highly motivated and enthusiastic Participation Leader (PL) to join the Participation Team at Tennis West.
Reporting to the Participation Manager, the Participation Leader role is responsible in promoting and increasing the uptake of participation services and programs offered to affiliated clubs. This will drive more people to play and to increase registered players (unique and verified) and work towards our goal of ONE million registered players!
Your duties will include but not limited to:
  • Developing relationships with Clubs to create a shared vision that includes the broader community and influencing clubs to embrace the Participation Story (Tennis Australia’s vision)
  • Supporting clubs to actively promote and deliver Competitions which include ANZ Tennis Hot Shots Leagues, League structures and Fast 4 social
  • Delivering and promoting community Tennis Programs to schools, clubs and the wider Tennis community
  • Establishing strong relationships with all stakeholders ( i.e. Clubs, Schools, Coaches, key councils and Regional Assemblies)
  • Facilitating strong and healthy relationships between schools and clubs as part of the National Partnership Program
  • Other duties as directed by management
To get ‘court up’ and be successful in becoming our newest member of the Tennis West team you must have the following skills and attributes:
  • Ability to motivate and form professional relationships to gain the expected level of performance out of all key stakeholders
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to evoke the cooperation of stakeholders across a wide range of organisations including volunteers, coaches, LGA’s and schools
  • Demonstrated experience in sports administration, particularly dealing with Clubs, Associations and volunteer bodies
  • Understanding of the tennis environment and the various stakeholders it engages (coaches, clubs, communities)
  • High level organisational skill with a focus on attention to detail with experience in problem solving.
  • High computer literacy with Microsoft suite and database management.

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with diverse stakeholders, face to face, by telephone and in written reports or general correspondence
  • Exceptional influence and negotiation skills with the ability to evoke the cooperation of a wide range of stakeholders including volunteers, coaches and LGA’s
  • Proven experience in sports administration, particularly dealing with Clubs, Associations and Volunteer Bodies
  • Strong problem solving and conflict resolution skills;
  • Understanding of the tennis environment and the various stakeholders it engages in Western Australia;
  • Demonstrated IT competency including the skills with Tennis-specific software, databases, web systems and the Microsoft Office suite;
  • High standard organisation and time management skills with the ability to prioritise and plan work programs and schedules;
  • A genuine passion of the sport of Tennis and a confident approach to your work;
  • Preparedness to be flexible with regard to travel for business purposes and working hours during peak times and events
  • Current and valid: Australian Driver’s License, First Aid Certificate and Working with Child Card
