James Duckworth is projected to rise to world No.116 following his victory at the ATP Challenger tournament in Baotou, China.

The Australian defeated Sasi Kumar Mukund of India 6-4 6-3 to improve his win-loss record 32-19 in 2019.

Duckworth was the top seed at the clay-court tournament and dropped just one set en route to the title, his second Challenger crown of the season after triumphing in Bangkok in February.

He also notched a final at the ATP Challenger event in Yokkaichi, Japan last month, meaning he has won nine of his past 11 matches.

Also winning a title at the weekend was another Aussie, Seone Mendez; the 20-year-old won the ITF 15K tournament in Tabarka, Tunisia.

It is Mendez’s sixth ITF title of the season.

Kaylah McPhee, meanwhile, progressed to the biggest final of her career at the ITF 60K tournament in Jinan, China.

McPhee fell 6-3 7-6(5) in the title match to You Xiaodi, but is nevertheless expected to rise to the cusp of the top 200 when next week’s WTA rankings are released.
