The WTA Tour clay court swing officially hits off in the American city of Charleston this week – where three Australians are contesting the Volvo Car Open.

Sam Stosur, the 2010 champion, is the No.6 seed and receives a first round bye. Former world No.1 Jelena Jankovic looms as a potential second round opponent.

Daria Gavrilova is seeded nine and been handed a tough draw, meeting former world No.5 Sara Errani in the opening round.
Should Gavrilova beat the former French Open finalist, she could meet fellow Australian Anastasia Rodionova in the next round.

Rodionova, who now primarily focuses on doubles, came through qualifying to earn her spot in the main draw. She faces China’s Duan Ying-Ying in the first round.
