Together with Queensland School Sport, Tennis Queensland has staged the Regional Finals of the Brisbane International Schools Challenge with the Capricornia Region trials held in Biloela on the 14^th November 2015.

The competition runs in two categories; Orange Ball for students up to Grade 5 and Green Ball for students up to Grade 6. The Winning team in the Orange Ball event and the Winning Team and Runners Up of the Green Ball event will qualify to compete in the Brisbane International Schools Challenge State Finals to be held during the 2016 Brisbane International. More than 150 teams participated in the Regional Finals throughout the state, with 15 of those teams competing in the Capricornia Region trials; 7 teams in the Orange Ball event and 8 teams in the Green Ball event. A fantastic display of tennis, team spirit and sportsmanship was showcased by all competitors in the very hot conditions and overall everyone had an enjoyable day playing Fast4 Tennis.

In the Central Region, St Joseph’s Catholic Primary School sent the largest contingent of teams and players. The school was rewarded with two teams qualifying for the State Final at the Brisbane International. Congratulations to St Joseph’s Blue (Winners Orange Ball), Rockhampton Grammar (Winners Green Ball) and St Joseph’s Grand Slams (Runners Up Green Ball) who have qualified to compete in the Brisbane International Schools Challenge State Finals that will be held during the 2016 Brisbane International. . It will be fantastic to see all of Queensland’s best primary school teams in Brisbane rubbing shoulders with some of the world’s sporting elite.
