Queensland’s Kimberly Birrell and Olivia Tjandramulia are amongst the six Aussies competing in the US Open Junior Tennis Championships set to get underway at Flushing Meadows today.

The girls are joined by Destanee Aiava, Naiktha Bains and Maddison Inglis in the 64-player girl’s field. Whilst Jake Delaney is the sole Australian competitor in the boy’s draw.

Birrell  defeated McNally (USA) 6-2 7-5 in the first round and faces a tough second round match against fifteen year-old Zhuk (RSA).

Tjandramulia will play Robillard-Milette (CAN) when she takes to the court for her first match.
