Phase one of the Sunshine Coast Regional Tennis Centre-At Caloundra will officially be opened with a ceremony on Saturday the 21st of March at 10am put on by The Mayor and Councillors of Sunshine Coast Council. Nine new hard courts were built over the back end of 2014 with the courts opening for play in mid December.  Phase two and three of the new build will done in the future which includes additional resurfacing of existing courts as well as a brand new clubhouse.

Along with the opening ceremony, Elite Tennis International who is the coach provider at the centre will be hosting an open day that is open to anyone in the area. Activities will include a  jumping castle, a speed serve machine, free tennis on the new courts as well as a free sausage sizzle.

The activities will kick off from 9am until Noon with the ceremony taking place from 10:00am-10:30am. Tennis Queensland CEO Cameron Pearson will be in attendance along with the following dignitaries:.
