We would like to officially welcome Martin Oosthuysen, who recently started with the Tennis Australia Officiating Department and Tennis Queensland, in the role of Officiating and Tournaments Assistant. Martin is based in the Tennis Queensland office and will work closely with the Officiating Development Coordinator and Tournaments & Competitions Manager to improve the experience of players and spectators and Queensland events. Many people within the tournaments community will have previously met Martin. His outstanding international officiating background, brings great experience and a strong knowledge of our tennis events to the role. Martin has several tasks to take on including assisting and mentoring referees and conducting valuable workshops for referees and court supervisors. We are most fortunate to welcome Martin officially to our team.

Nine Queensland Officials had the opportunity to officiate during the Oceania Championships held in Cairns during September. Fantastic feedback was received about the officials from Bruce Osborne, the event organiser. The local officials spoke highly of their experience working at this unique Championships. Well done to all involved.
