13 September 2013 | Tennis Queensland

On the 11th September, Tennis Queensland received the opportunity to partner the South West Indigenous Network (SWIN) as an exhibitor at the Former Origin Greats Indigenous Employment and Career Expo in Toowoomba.

The expo at Clive Berghofer Recreation Centre offered Indigenous high school students from the South region employment, skill building and career opportunities in many different industries.

Tennis Queensland offered information in the Health and Fitness sector offering Community Coaching Course opportunities for students of the age of 16+. SWIN offers participation opportunities in tennis to students and remote communities and run many great tours and initiatives to endorse our sport to these communities.

The day saw many proactive students interested in different professions and receiving inspiration from Former Origin Greats such as Justin Hodges, Scott Prince, Wendall Sailor, Steve Price, Alf Langer and David Hala.

Tennis Queensland identified one young attendee as a great ambassador of Tennis, sporting her Brisbane International bandana around all day!

Paityn Wilson, 4years old won a great Tennis pack for her love of our sport.
