  • The next round of the State Government’s “Get Playing” funding grant program opened on 15 August 2013 and closes on 15 October 2013. This program offers grants of up to $100,000 for facility development projects on the basis applicants are able to contribute a minimum of 20% of the identified project costs as well as meet the other funding criteria. Further details can be found at http://www.nprsr.qld.gov.au/funding/getinthegame/getplaying.html as well as some tennis facility specific advice on our TQ web site at the bottom of this page http://www.tennis.com.au/qld/clubs/funding-and-grants (under the heading “A note from our Places to Play team”.

Other grants currently and/or periodically available include the Gambling Community Benefit Fund and the three Casino benefit funds(Jupiter’s, Reef and Breakwater) that can be found by going to http://www.olgr.qld.gov.au/grants/programs/index.shtml. Each of these three Casino benefit funds are linked to a specific geographic area of Queensland depending upon where your facility is located which can be determined from the following map also found on this web site  http://www.olgr.qld.gov.au/grants/index.shtml. Again, it is very important to read the stated criteria for these grants before submitting an application to see if your project qualifies. A hot tip here is for applicants to contribute at least 10% of the identified project cost rather than apply for the whole 100% as the assessors like to see some reasonable degree of “buy in” to these projects from the applicant as well.
