‘Great turnout for social tennis’

WHITSUNDAY TENNIS SATURDAY afternoon social tennis hosted Australia’s Biggest Morning tea on Saturday afternoon.

A large group of over 20 players attended, enjoying a game of tennis and an afternoon tea to support the Cancer Council.

Junior members Sarah Davidson, Sienna Mau, Emma Bradtke and Darcy Larkin all made the Whitsunday district school team, with the next tryout on June 5 in Home Hill for selection into the North Queensland team.

Tuesday evening social tennis and Xstrata evening cardio were pleased with the number of people out on court, while Thursday evening social tennis was a little light on and are looking for more players to take to the court.

Tuesday and Friday morning cardio tennis had plenty of morning cardio tennis had plenty of deep breaths happening with a smoking workout by the girls.

Junior Monday tennis is still gaining in popularity.

Those in top form this week were Dylan Thorpe, Mya Murray, Daniel and Nick Cullen in the older set, while on the community hotshot scene it was newcomers Xavier and Oxen Prosser, Ylana Nurflus and Jasper McKinnon showing plenty of spirit.

Trent Murray and Emma Bradtke did the club proud with their efforts in the Townsville junior development round robin.
